As your President, I look forward to continuing PADC’s traditional role in serving our membership in productive and helpful ways.  Working with our Programs Committee, I look forward to the accredited Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programs and other opportunities we will be offering this year.  These will be a mix of virtual and in-person events. PADC will also continue to work with other bar organizations on joint CLE programming.

I will continue working with our PADC members in communicating directly with supervising judges of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas and leaders of the organized bar, including the plaintiff’s bar, on the efficient and balanced administration of the civil Docket. PADC has become a leader in these efforts.

I also look forward to supporting our many committees in their efforts to promote diversity, contribute to the public interest, consider amicus filings, increase the number and variety of our sponsors, and continue as a vital resource for our members.  This includes completing work on our new website!

I also look forward to preparing the next generation of defense attorneys and increasing not just their membership, but their active participation in PADC.  The pandemic created a gap in their development as trial attorneys and inhibited professional interaction.  For our clients to be well-served in the future and for our organization to thrive, we need to provide the younger members of the bar with substantive and interesting opportunities to learn and refine their role as litigators and contribute to the organized bar.  Through our CLE offerings and other events, as well as promoting more participation on our committees, I look forward to working with our members in providing “Next Gen” attorneys with productive opportunities for their professional development.  They are our future.

Through our collective efforts, we will strengthen PADC, the defense bar, and make significant contributions as legal professionals.

I welcome your ideas, your participation, and look forward to working with you!
