PADC's Commitment to Diversity

The following resolution was adopted by the Philadelphia Association of Defense Counsel at the September 15, 2009 meeting of its Executive Committee:

PADC Diversity Resolution

The Philadelphia Association of Defense Counsel (PADC) is committed to increasing the number of attorneys of diverse backgrounds working at law firms and corporate law departments in the Greater Philadelphia region.

PADC calls on all its members and their firms to make a concerted commitment to this resolution in their hiring practice. In collaboration with area educational institutions, governments, professional associations, corporations and businesses, PADC will develop initiatives and programs that will support the success of these lawyers and encourage them to come to and practice law in Philadelphia.

PADC is committed to fostering participation of a more diverse group of lawyers in Philadelphia in order to make our legal profession stronger, more productive and better equipped to address the challenges of the 21st century. PADC believes that diversity includes all individuals who bring unique perspective or outlook to the practice of law.

PADC Announces 2009-2010 Luncheon CLE Programs

The remaining dates for the 2009-2010 luncheon CLE programs are: March 16, 2010, April 20, 2010 and May 18, 2010. The price is $40 for PADC members and $75 for non-members. Lunch and one CLE credit is included.

PADC Launches Website

The Philadelphia Associaition of Defense Counsel Executive Committee recently approved the creation of a website for PADC members and the legal community. The site will provide news and information on upcoming PADC events. It will also offer summaries of legislation and case law of interest. PADC members are encouraged to submit cases of interest, news items and short articles for inclusion on the site.
